Precious and rare are the moments in the realm of competition when a David faces a Goliath, defiantly stands his ground and says "We will not be bullied! We will not be content with second place! If you want this victory you are going to have to fight for it with all that you are. Because that is HOW WE ROLL!"
LIke Appalachian St. against Michigan in the Big House. Like Boise St. against Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta bowl. LIke the 1980 USA hockey team against the mighty USSR. Like the Hickory Hoosiers against that big school from Indianapolis in that movie with Gene Hackman. The team of Cahloud, Blu, and TROYB00007 withstood the onslaught of CODENAME, Dustizzy, Boaz and (for the last round) TD LUKE DUKE for TWO MATCHES!
These were not the victories that come easily to dominant dynasties. These were not the performances of pompous power players. These were hard fought, come from behind, back and forth slug fests. The only conceivable comparison would be by combining the fight scenes from Rocky 1, 3, & 4.
But this was more than a game of Gears of War 2, This was a beacon of hope for every slightly over weight child who was picked last on the schoolyard because he couldn't run as fast as the other kids, for every homely girl that was longingly left home on prom night, for every man near 40 who can't tap that stupid "B" button as fast as the younger players. This was their moment to stand and triumphantly scream, "You may torque me before I even know where you are. You can down me with your pistol and walk up and curb stomp me. You can pop my head from across the map with the sniper. But tonight my head rests on a pillow cool with the satisfaction of victory." Tonight David stared down Goliath and said "Oh no you didnn!"
Sleep well on your cool victory pillow David, Sleep well.

Haha... ok you receive the wordsmith achievement worth 100 points.
With that said I demand a rematch with the standard NK weapon swap and then we shall see who achieves VICTORY.
You mean the standard weapon swap that doesn't include torque bows, right?
I have to say that last night will stand in my memory as one of the most amazing/fluke upsets of all the competitive world.
My favorite was before we started the first match and I pessimistically said "Oh, this is going to be fun," to which Christian replied "No, there is where we shine! People will be talking about this game for years!" Truer words were never spoken.
Always root for the underdogs! Fun match, even if we got spanked!
Of course you know this means WAR!
Oh blu, it's nice to see I influence your life in such a way it moves you to blog about it.
But we were beaten by the bots, not you. I do remember seeing that Blu killed C0DENAME once that night, but it first said that I was downed by a bot. Oh well.
I demand a rematch without bots but you can use whatever weapons you want. And if it makes you feel any better you can host AGAIN.
But it was fun even if you didn't want to go 3 out of 5.
